The student will learn about the CATIA interface and gain a thorough understanding of the interactions pertaining to basic 2D and 3D geometry. The focus of the course is to create and manipulate basic and 3D geometry.
This class teaches you how to quickly design parts using the advanced solids capabilities of CATIA. The instructor will teach you optimal methods for designing with solids so you can make design changes quickly and easily. You will add draft to solids and be taught how to analyze solids for interference and mass properties.
New CATIA V4 Users
Create and modify basic 2D Space geometry. Adjust the graphical perspective using dynamic rotation capabilities and store it in windows and screens. Create and utilize details. Use overlay management techniques. Create plots. Use the hardware to interact with CATIA. Create primitive shapes & combine them together using union, subtract, split, & intersect operations. Extract wire frame; trim surfaces, skins, and volumes from a solid. Modify your solid designs using basic parametric operations. Apply and modify fillets and features. Analyze solids for interference conditions & calculate volume, weight, surface area, & center of gravity. Add draft to your solid part design.
