The
purpose of this class is to aid engineers and designers in seeing the
bigger picture of the CAD world. As many know, there’s more to design
than just creating lines, arcs and circles. The goal is to develop a
fully functional item that the entire company can revolve around. This
course is intended for those interested in different areas of the
design field.
The
concept of 3D prototyping is covered as well. Students will design,
print and keep the parts they create in class. It will be based on the
Polyjet technology from the well-known company Objet.
The
final part of the class will be a project were designers will put
together, in the CAD software, an actual 3D printer design and make
sure that all the parts fit properly. There will be collaboration among
the students in sharing different parts and assemblies to create the
final product.
