CATIA V5 - Week H - Core, Cavity & Mold Design (5 days)
Duration
5 Days
Objective
FMP: Functional Molded Part
Define the main shapes of a molded part as added or removed material
Add functional features such as ribs or cutouts to the part
Finalize the molded part using the feature modifiers such as fillets or patterns
Use the multi-body approachExtract cores and cavities from the final part
Mold Tooling Design
Create the mold base having guided and fixed components using Mold
Tooling Design workbench
Build the complete assembly of a Plastic Injection Mold.
TG1: Tooling Design
Create the die and mold components using Mold Tool Design workbench.
Instantiate the components in a die or mold structure.
Core & Cavity Design
Import the part to a mold
Define the main pulling direction
Update mold areas by transferring, splitting and segregating faces
Create a parting surface
Use functionalities dedicated to stamping
Perform a geometric comparison of two parts
Profile
All designers, especially in the tooling design domain
Pre-requisites
V5F: CATIA V5 Fundamentals, V5S: CATIA V5 Surface Design
Content
Functional Molded Part workbench to
create molded parts from the main shapes definition and to finalize the partwith additional dress up features. You will also be taught the multi-bodyapproach and will finally learn how to extract cores and cavity from the final part.
